Why Do We Have Problems?
You may not agree totally with the list below, but I just wanted to condense the message of 100s of books into simple
terms.
About 15 years ago, I decided to evaluate the environmental situation, to see if I could contribute in some way to
support Terra. I needed something that was a little more productive than recycling my Pepsi and Bud cans. After reading a
pile of environmental authors, I concluded that the main reasons for the worlds problems were as follows:
- needs, perceived needs, wants and desires;
- lack of understanding, lack of caring;
- peer pressure, sales pressure or propaganda;
- obvious deceit by critics;
- convenience;
- profit;
- greed, selfishness;
- vanity;
- religious doctrine;
- individuals confused by conflicting information.
If you want more data, then you read the books, too.
