I never wrote an article until I retired.
When the Green Party fielded a candidate here in town, I was asked to help. The candidate and I stood at the Farmer's
Market and gave out campaign literature. A gentleman who was visiting in town from Finland spoke to me. He said "if I were
a citizen of Canada I would be standing here beside you."
We spoke at length. When I returned home, I wrote an article about the incident and took it to the local paper where it
was accepted as a Letter to the Editor. Later, I approached the same editor about an environmental column. He said I should
submit a few and see how it went.
To make it short, I sent in weekly articles for close to two years (most are archived here on this site). I quit for a
while, then started again on a three week schedule because of other commitments. Some articles have nothing to do with the
environment. I may be a bit radical, as I like to get to the root of a problem, but I am not, I hope, obsessed.
Here are my articles indexed by subject matter. Enjoy? Not everyone does.
Optimistically Yours,
