A person in today's world is bombarded with the language of the ruling parties, i.e newspeak, to use a word from Orwell's 1984. This newspeak propaganda has evolved because reporters are less able to tell you what they personally think. The media is business controlled and many newspeople maintain their positions by keeping their views to themselves.

There are several web sites that are useful in getting a different view on things. Here are some I like. Please come back.

• Canadian Center for Policy Alternatives: I subscribe to the CCPA Monitor - a monthly publication , well worth the price.
• Counter Punch: Lots of authors, lots of view points.
• Michael Moore's Web Site: An American for whom I have deep respect.
• Znet: A popular place with 1,000,000 hits per week.
• Noam Chomsky archive: Today's prophet. Effectively silenced by the powers that be.
• Mindfully.org: Lots of eye opening research papers on many subjects.
• Working For Change: Great commentary and news items from both sides of the issues.
• Sinister Designs: Art and insight. A site by my good friend in Ottawa who designed and constructed this site, and proudly declares herself Civis Mundi.
